Job Description
We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking professional
to join Signpost Stockport for Carers as our Practice Development Worker.
This dynamic role is pivotal in shaping how carers are recognised, supported, and championed
across Stockport and Greater Manchester. Working across our services for both young and adult
carers, the successful candidate will collaborate with partners across health, education,
voluntary private and statutory sectors to advocate for carers’ rights, raise awareness of their
needs, and drive improvements in services, policy and practice. This role will suit someone
passionate about systemic change and building inclusive, carer-aware communities aligned with
our Think Carer initiative.

- record information, and communicate with empathy and understanding.
- Ability to be flexible, adapting to changing demands, undertake a variety of tasks, and
- provide hands-on support where required.
- Willingness to collaborate, share knowledge, and support colleagues in a small and dynamic
- team.
- A strong awareness of the challenges faced by unpaid carers and the impact of their role.
- Satisfactory references. Enhanced DBS check .
