Trainee Energy Advisor

Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a 12-month paid placement, supported by the Cadent Foundation. It is designed to give you the training, experience and confidence to start a career in the energy efficiency sector. You’ll work alongside experienced Energy Advisors and gain a Level 3 qualification in Energy Awareness, progressing into a qualified Energy Advisor role.

As an Energy Advisor (also known as a Groundwork Green Doctor), you’ll visit low income households and offer friendly, practical advice and install simple energy-saving measures in their homes. You’ll carry out home energy surveys, identify opportunities for improving energy efficiency, and help people make small behavioural changes that can lead to big savings on their bills while also benefiting the environment. You’ll also support residents to access wider services by referring them to other organisations that can help with financial advice, health support, or home safety improvements. 

No prior experience is needed for this role - just enthusiasm, a desire to help others, and an interest in making homes warmer, greener, and more affordable.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

No experience is necessary for this role – just an appetite to learn, a motivation to help others, and an interest in pursuing a career in this field.
