Job Description
About Us
Withington Public Hall Institute CIC (WPHI) is a vibrant, community-led social enterprise located in a historic space in the heart of Withington, South Manchester. As both a community venue and a neighbourhood pub, we’re all about people, pints, pizza — and now, productivity.
In partnership with Withington Works, we’re opening during the daytime for co-working, 9am–5pm, while continuing to host a diverse range of cultural and social events in the evenings — including live gigs, comedy, talks, club nights, and more. We also hire out our spaces for meetings, community groups, private parties, training, choir practice and networking events.
Withington Works is a thriving co-working space situated above Withington Baths community run leisure centre and swimming pool. Operating since 2019, Withington Works has now grown to host over 30 regular members and 400 day pass visits per year. The space also holds socials and runs a professional support network for Withington and the local area. Our mission is to bring people together and support local enterprise through accessible, welcoming spaces.
About the Role
We are looking for a warm, organised and proactive Co-Working Host & Venue Operations Support to support the daily running of our co-working space and venue operations. You'll be the friendly face that welcomes co-working guests, supports bookings and venue logistics and promotions, and helps ensure that both our daytime and evening offerings run smoothly.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working independently, thrives in a community-focused environment, and has a passion for making spaces feel inclusive, welcoming and productive.
Whilst the focus of the role will be around the co-working offer, we would ideally like the successful candidate to be involved in all aspects of the business, including operational delivery outside of office hours.
The role is circa 30 hours per week. This could be split across 4 or 5 days Monday to Friday during office hours, and further hours could be available outside of office hours. We’re happy to discuss flexible working patterns. The role is currently fixed-term until the end of March 2026. However it is our ambition that the role will lead to long term employment at WPHI and therefore we hope to be able to offer an extension beyond this.
