Job Description
About the role
We are looking for a Food Partnership Co-ordinator for 12 months to strengthen the local cross-sector Food Partnership involving public, third sector, business and community representatives committed to working together across all key food issues. This will involve:
- The development of the Food Partnership working with stakeholders both within the borough of Stockport and outside. This includes meetings, social media, running an email account and creating updates to share with partners
- Supporting and influencing food policy change in Stockport
- Helping to evaluate our work and report back to stakeholders
- Supporting the development of projects and working groups
- Leading the steering group to support decision making
- Identifying resources to support food work in Stockport including funding, spaces and new partnerships
This is a brand new role and we are open to suggestions on how to shape it.
About you
We are looking for someone who is able to:
- Be energetic, enthusiastic and driven. Happy with self-directed working.
- Have experience of working in partnerships and working with communities
- Organise their own workload to achieve targets
- Communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds including presentations and meetings
- Work as part of a team and independently
- Strong IT skills, including report writing, social media, updating websites
- Has an interest in food
About the Stockport Food Partnership
The Stockport Food Partnership has been in development since November 2022. It brings together people from the food system in Stockport to share good practice, share resources and develop projects which will improve the food system. Our vision is: Empower all Stockport residents to access and eat a diverse range of affordable, healthy, nutritious and culturally appropriate food. We have 3 priorities for the next year, which are: food security, food waste and food education, as well as building the partnership.
