Youth Engagement Workers

£23,418- £26,469 (21 hours year-round £14,050-£15,881) start point depending on experience

21 hours per week (term time only or year-round contract)

This position is primarily based in Moss Side

Manchester Young Lives does education differently. We building trusting relationships that enable young people to feel respected and safe, facilitating engaging creative personalised learning programmes that leave young people with SEND believing they can succeed. We are looking for passionate values driven professionals who will support young people in our Learning Hubs to believe in themselves and achieve their aspirations.

As part of expanding our Moss Side Learning Hub, MYL is recruiting for Youth Engagement Workers to work on the Post 16 programme with young people 16 - 25 with SEND, providing informal education, pastoral support and enrichment activities. You will work alongside a Vocational Skills Tutor and agencies to support the engagement of young people on MYL employment programme. A key requirement will be to provide travel training and mentoring to young people using a community-based approach and working collaboratively with wider MYL services, local partners and agencies in designated areas. 

This is a part-time role (including 9.30am – 3.30pm Tuesday and Friday) but we are happy to consider additional flexible working arrangements for the right candidate. Successful candidates can choose whether to have a term time only contract (+ 5 training days) with a pro-rata salary, OR a year-round contract with annual leave entitlement and a requirement to support holiday playschemes.
