Salary: The rate of pay is £125 per day for two days a week, payable on receipt of monthly invoices. The role is on a self-employed basis and, as such, the appointee will need to take responsibility for any tax or National Insurance contributions.
Working Hours: Part-Time (Working hours are not fixed, but the 14 hours should broadly coincide with Burnage Library's opening (Monday: 10:00 - 16:00; Tuesday: 10:00 - 13:00; Wednesday: 10:00 - 19:00; Saturday: 10:00 - 13:00; potentially Thursdays 10:00 - 13:00). Work can be performed remotely on occasion, but initial attendance on site is necessary to understand the position and organisation.
Applicant may be asked to support events on Saturdays, and Trustee Board meetings in the evening.)

Job Description
Friends of Burnage Library (FOBL) seek an experienced person to act as Development Worker within the Library, Activity and Information Hub. This post is for two days a week until March 31st 2026, starting as soon as possible.
The chief duties of the role are as follows:
- Oversee the completion of the Library’s ongoing ‘Our Manchester’ project.
- Support our library’s volunteers.
- Increase our reach in the local community.
- Engage community members as service users and contributors including through consultation and evaluation, volunteering and fundraising.
- Facilitate one-off open events.
The role is on a self-employed basis and, as such, the appointee will need to take responsibility for any tax or National Insurance contributions.
