Manchester Young Lives does education differently. We build trusting relationships that enable young people to feel respected and safe, facilitating engaging creative individualised learning programmes that leave young people believing they can succeed. We are looking for passionate values driven professionals who will support young people to believe in themselves and achieve their aspirations.

Due to an internal promotion, MYL is recruiting a part-time Youth Engagement Worker to work on the Post 16 programme with young people 16 - 25 with special educational needs, providing pastoral support and enrichment activities, and facilitating informal learning. Working as part of a team including qualified teachers, a key part of the role is to mentor to young people using a community-based approach. You will support them in working towards individual goals and developing the skills and confidence to travel independently.

We are keen to hear from people with good engagement and youth work skills. This is a year-round post, doing 18 hours per week, which could work alongside other employment or personal responsibility. You will need to be willing to travel around the city of Manchester, working with young people where they feel comfortable.
