Job Description

The Day Centre Kitchen Assistant supports the preparation and service of safe, nutritious and appetising meals for older people attending the day centre, many of whom are living with dementia. 

The role involves assisting with food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and health and safety. 

The postholder will support individual dietary needs, including modified textures and special diets, and help ensure mealtimes are calm, dignified and enjoyable. Working as part of a wider day centre team, the Kitchen Assistant plays an important role in promoting wellbeing, independence and positive social interaction for people accessing the service.
