Job Description

The Growth Company’s (GC) Employment team have an exciting new opportunity for an Investment Manager to join GC’s early-stage Equity Investment team providing seed capital to startups. The Investment Manager will be a key integrator in the startup ecosystem to generate opportunities to assess for investment and will also assist with investment management through financial and commercial due diligence in support of the investment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all stages of deal management, including sourcing new investment opportunities, preparing investment papers, conducting due diligence, and reporting on the portfolio to Limited Partners (LPs).
  • Identify and evaluate potential investments in innovative startups and new technologies using financial models and market research.
  • Work with portfolio companies to drive their success and identify new opportunities.
  • Interpreting financial statements and using them to make predictions about the viability and growth potential of potential investments.
  • Build relationships with entrepreneurs and other industry professionals including with co- investors (angels, syndicates, and institutions).

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as finance, computer science or business.
  • Technical knowledge of early-stage investment processes including financial, legal, commercial, and management diligence.
  • Substantial prior experience in a similar role, ideally at a venture capital firm, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or a startup.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and risk.
  • Strong financial analysis and financial modelling skills.
  • Business strategy experience.
