Job Description
The Role and Department:
We have an opportunity for an experienced counsellor to join our diverse and established Talking Therapy adults counselling team. You will be based in Oldham and reporting to the counselling project manager. You will be responsible for providing 50-minute person centred counselling sessions based on an 8-12 session model internally within our organisational space. Alongside this you will have a pivotal role working from designated partner GP surgeries. You will provide planned holistic assessment appointments to timely support client needs around their mental health and what the client is currently experiencing. You will be responsible as part of our service and organisation to strengthen your relationships across teams internally and with external services. This aims to ensure a collaborative way of working for clients to receive the most appropriate support for positive change.
What you will bring to TOG Mind:
To be considered for this role we are looking for an experienced, passionate and reflective qualified person-centred counsellor with a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience and continued practice. You must have a level 4 counselling diploma as minimum from a recognised academic institution. Experience of providing short term counselling sessions to clients experiencing common mental health problems.
We require a counsellor who has experience of assessing, managing and supporting with risk and safeguarding concerns which may arise when working with clients. A counsellor who is comfortable and experienced being professionally curious when working with clients.
You will have the ability to manage your own caseload of clients including updating client notes. Managing incoming and outgoing referrals and administration associated with this. An understanding, drive and commitment to provide positive outcomes to achieve service and organisational aims.
TOG Mind counselling service are a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. We require a counsellor who aligns with the standards of a recognised professional body. A counsellor who is proactive in learning and development and continued professional development.
