Locations: Hybrid, Bolton
Salary: £24,500.00
Working Hours: Part-Time (Hours: 25 hours per week flexible working with 8 hours spent each Wednesday (8.30am to 3.30pm) at the weekly Drop-in located in the Victoria Hall in Bolton.
Otherwise flexible working from home including being available to supervise Senior Caseworker and Admin Assistant. Some 1/2 day sessions in office as and when needed e.g., to work face to face with Admin and Casework staff.)

Are you an experienced and pro-active manager seeking to make a difference and looking for a part-time (25 hour per week) role?
Could you help the Destitution Project (DP) deliver and develop its essential work supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community? We are a dynamic and well-respected Charity at the forefront of refugee and asylum seeker support in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As DP’s Operations and Development Manager, you will provide overall leadership and management for staff and volunteers. This will include attending and being responsible for oversight at the Wednesday Drop-in and liaising with service providers and partner organisations. You will work closely with DP’s Trustees and the DP Coordinating Committee to ensure smooth service delivery; develop and implement DP’s long-term strategic plans. and, via consultation and feedback, develop services and activities that meet service users’ needs. This will include building relationships in the community and representing DP at events and via external networks.

You will have experience of:
- Managing and supervising the work of teams and individuals.
- Decision-making in a wide range of situations including where risk management and safeguarding are considerations.
- Managing competing interests within the workplace.
- Understanding the circumstances and needs of refugees, asylum-seekers and vulnerable migrants.

WHAT DOES DP DO?
The Destitution Project (DP) is a dynamic and well-respected charity at the forefront of refugee and asylum seeker support in Bolton, Greater Manchester. We have been offering a broad range of support to those who may otherwise face destitution since 2015. Our website with more information is www.boltondp.org.
Our Wednesday Drop-in offers a safe, welcoming space for people to meet and mix. We provide a hot meal; food parcels for asylum seekers; clothing and household goods and much more.
Our Casework Service provides information and support face to face at the Drop-in and remotely through the week to first time applicants; refugees newly granted Leave to Remain and refused asylum seekers.
Our service is delivered by a passionately committed team of three staff members (part-time) and a volunteer core of thirty including 6 trustees. A few of the Team have been with the Project since its foundation as an independent charity in 2015; others have joined along the way, some having initially come to DP as service users themselves. People with lived experience are central to everything we do, not just as service users, but as staff, volunteers and trustees.

Role Type/Cause: Management, Operations, Senior Management
Holidays: We offer generous holiday entitlement of 140 hours exclusive of Bank Holidays and DP closure days given between the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Employee benefits: DP operates a staff pension scheme with NEST pensions. During periods of sickness absence DP will pay full salary. Mileage/train fare can be reimbursed when travelling out of Bolton on approved work duties (e.g. attend conferences) and DP provides an allowance to cover parking for office duties in Bolton.
