Job Description
The Growth Company’s (GC) Education and Skills team have an exciting new opportunity for a Training Centre Manager to operate as a manager responsible for the performance management and success of a Training Centre and a team of staff.
Responsible for the successful design and delivery of industry vocational / employability relevant training and development programmes which meet learner and employer needs in line with specific funding and quality standards and the financial targets of the delivery team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of individual service area plans and translate them into detailed delivery plans and timetables.
- Review management information (MI) regularly and implement corrective actions to ensure performance targets are met.
- Lead curriculum development that is financially viable, quality-driven, and responsive to learner, employer, and funder needs.
- Build and manage relationships with key partners and employers to inform curriculum design and identify market opportunities.
- Manage delivery teams, ensuring adherence to service plans, timetables, and high standards of safeguarding and health & safety.
- Oversee case management of learners, delivering one-to-one and group interventions, and monitoring attendance and behaviour.
- Monitor and improve quality through learner walkthroughs, QIPs, and compliance systems to ensure clean audits and continuous improvement.
- Manage financial performance, including recruitment targets (£600K income), budget control, and contract compliance.

- Able to lead by example, acting as an exemplar of delivery and maintaining up-to-date industry and policy knowledge.
- Empathetic and learner-focused, with experience supporting 16–19-year-olds from diverse and challenging backgrounds.
- Skilled in motivating teams to identify programme enhancements and deliver strong performance against targets.
Skills Required:
- Strong planning, organisational, and project management skills, with the ability to maximise resource efficiency.
- Proven ability to manage staff performance, development, and recruitment to meet operational and quality targets.
- Experience in developing and delivering funded and/or commercial education programmes, including apprenticeships and workplace learning.
- Skilled in curriculum design, including bespoke packages and partnership models with key employers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and consultative sales skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in using MI to inform strategic decisions and drive quality improvement actions.
- In-depth knowledge of funding and awarding body requirements, contract compliance, and audit readiness.
- Qualified and experienced teacher with exemplary delivery experience and a track record of success in education leadership.
