Job Description
To provide strategic leadership for the charitable company, to ensure sustainability and establish and maintain networks and partnerships that enable 4CT to deliver its social aims and meet business objectives.
- To direct, manage, develop and deliver a range of community development and community business activities in accordance with 4CT mission, aims and objectives
- To direct activities such that the obligations to funders and/or sponsors are regularly and successfully fulfilled and that 4CT a makes a return against turnover as agreed annually in the Business Plans.
- To promote 4CT and its activities.
- To play a part as a member of the Management Team (the Board) in setting, implementing and managing corporate strategy and direction.
- To lead and motivate a staff team who possess the competence and capability to deliver Community Development and Community Economic Development benefits to stakeholder communities.
- To direct and implement policies to ensure high standards and commitments to customer care, health and safety and staff/trainee motivation in line with best practice and current legislation.
- To be responsible for Health & Safety and Safeguarding within 4CT
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Financial Management: resource and financial management skills, formulating and monitoring budgets, reporting internally and externally and working with our accountant to maintain high financial standards in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Income Generation: securing income through a range of sources including permitted trade, facility hire, grants, contracts and direct fund raising. Working collaboratively to secure income within partnerships.
- People Management: effective support of a range of roles within the multi-disciplinary team to enable the workforce to deliver their roles effectively and meet the needs of service users.
- Partnerships and Collaborative Working: ability to build and maintain strong networks of support and to forge effective partnerships with a range of stakeholders including other VCSE organisations, statutory authorities and funders.
- Planning and Organising: ability to turn strategic objectives into practical, deliverable services and activities, maintaining quality and safety and being within budget. Self-management and the ability to plan and prioritise own and others work. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain sound judgement under pressure.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE
- Suitable Qualification: have a suitable qualification relevant to the role.
- Sector Knowledge: comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the VCSE sector within Manchester and/or work experience in a similar setting
- Legislation and Policy: a thorough understanding of legislation and policy relevant to the context of VCSE organisations including safeguarding, health and safety and equality, diversity and inclusion
REQUIREMENTS
- DBS Check: the postholder must be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check
DESIRABLE
- Experience of capacity building and/or mentoring support for VCSE organisations
- Hold a current clean driving licence
