Saturday working 9am until 3.30pm)

Job Description

To offer community members in shared housing properties person-centred face to face, hands on coaching and support for personal well-being, life skills and professional development, residency, housing, and move-on needs.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Skills, training, education, employability, DWP/Job centre, universal credit claims and managing journals. 

2. Work with the CEO and retail team to carry out work related coaching in the social enterprises, helping Companions and non-residential work placement volunteers to gain confidence in their role and where needed, a work ethic, to help them move on. 

3. Carry out varied administration for the community, for example appointments and ensuring that nonessential appointments are considered in line with community activities and commitments. 

4. Conduct required room/house inspections with the Community Support Director or other staff which supports ‘tenancy readiness’. 

5. Encourage Companions to take personal responsibility in regards to their personal well-being and selfcare. 

6. Liaise with other agencies to support Companion well-being, including addictions and mental health. 

7. Support non-residential volunteers with training and roles. 

8. Undertake regular visits to work sites to check on companions and offer in-work support. 

9. Participate in occasional requirements to cover Saturday working when one or more of the retail team is absent this also includes on occasion weekend events such as ‘We Invented the Weekend’ in June each year. 

10. Participate in open up & lock up as needed. Other responsibilities: 

11. Undertake community administration, paper and electronic record keeping, and report writing as needed. 

12. Attend regular meetings with the community, the support team and wider staff team and provide verbal and/or written/electronic updates as required. 

13. Support colleagues by sharing information appropriately and confidentially. 

14. Adhere to Emmaus Salford’s policies, protocols and procedures in accordance with the ethos of the Emmaus movement. 

15. Represent Emmaus Salford to partner agencies to network and develop relations with a variety of agencies for the benefit of both the community and Companions. 

16. Attend appropriate Emmaus UK events nationally and with the wider Emmaus movement internationally as required. 

17. Perform any other tasks or duties deemed necessary by the CEO & Community Support Director.
