Children and Young People’s Community Project Worker 

35 hours per week – Temporary (maternity cover) 

£15.17 per hour 

Purpose of the role: 

The Children and Young People’s Worker will support young people, aged 0-16, from the Bolton area to work through trauma as a result of exposure to Domestic Abuse (DA). The Worker will be allocated cases via our partner agencies, Endeavour and Bolton at Home, supporting these young people both individually and as part of group work sessions. Collaborative work with adult support workers based within those partner agencies will offer a whole family support network. 

We particularly encourage applications from those who have experience of working with the BAME community and have specialist knowledge to overcome language, cultural and faith barriers thus maximising engagement with all Fortalice domestic abuse support services. 

Key skills: 

  • An ability to build and develop supportive relationships with children and young people, maintaining professional boundaries. 
  • Experience of delivering group work and individual support sessions with children and young people of all age ranges. 
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, Early Help, adults at risk and a commitment to follow procedure.
