Community Development & Engagement Officer
Salary: £30,825 – £32,115 DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (core hours 9am to 5pm Mon to Fri, with some evenings and weekends for community activities and events; TOIL system in place)
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Location: Langworthy Cornerstone Centre, 451 Liverpool Street, Salford, M6 5QQ
Reports to: Chief Officer

About Us
Langworthy Cornerstone Association (LCA) is a vibrant community led charity and Healthy Living Centre at the heart of Salford. We are proud to be commissioned by Greater Manchester Integrated Services to improve the health, wellbeing, and resilience of local people, particularly in Seedley, Langworthy, and surrounding M6 communities.
Our centre is home to a wide range of activities, services, and partnerships, from creative and wellbeing programmes to family support, food clubs, and social connection projects. We are at an exciting point of growth and are looking for a passionate Community Development & Engagement Officer to help strengthen our work and amplify the voices of our communities.
About the Role
This role is all about connecting people, building relationships, and driving engagement. You will:
- Lead on outreach and engagement with diverse communities across Salford and Greater Manchester
- Strengthen partnerships with local organisations, agencies, and community groups
- Take LCA’s services into the wider community, creating opportunities for collaboration and new projects
- Place the views and voices of local people at the centre of service development and decision making
- Ensure high quality outcomes that align with LCA’s mission of making Salford a healthier, more connected, and inclusive place
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Community driven – passionate about improving lives and empowering people in the community
- A strong communicator – able to connect with individuals, groups, and professionals at all levels
- Organised and proactive – confident in managing projects, deadlines, and multiple relationships
- Creative and resourceful – able to spot opportunities, join up ideas, and turn them into action
- Inclusive and culturally aware – committed to engaging diverse communities and reducing inequalities
You should have:
- Experience of community development, engagement, and outreach work
- A proven ability to build effective partnerships with organisations and communities
- Experience of embedding engagement approaches into projects, services, or policy
- Confidence in providing insight, reporting, and evidence to influence change.
- Skills in developing funding applications, engagement activity, and resources
- Marketing, Project planning and basic IT Skills.
