Working Hours: Full-Time (35 hours a week Monday - Friday. Working hours to be negotiated in line with our flexible working policy. We have a flexible working culture and typically programme staff work 3 days a week at Gorton Central / attending meetings and 2 days a week from home. Core working hours 9am-5pm and this role will involve some evening work as defined by the programme delivery. )

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced person to join Healthy Me Healthy Communities CiC.  The Development Manager will develop and drive forward a new pilot programme in Manchester, codesigning a pilot Leaving Care programme.   

The Development Manager will report to the Services Manager and supervise sessional tutors and contractors.

Location: Based at Gorton Central, Gorton Community Centre, Manchester, M18 8PE  

Position type: 1-year fixed term (continuation subject to funding).  

Key accountabilities  

The role will be responsible for: 

  • Leading and developing the Leaving Care programme.
  • Coordinating and carrying out codesign and engagement activities with those with lived experience of leaving care, ensuring involvement throughout the programme.
  • Identifying and nurturing partnership opportunities with key partners like universities, colleges and cultural organisations.
  • Planning and coordinating the Leaving Care programme activities including appointing tutors, booking venues and resources.
  • Supervise sessional workers and contract workers.
  • Working closely with our key partner Manchester City Council and other statutory bodies.
  • Developing effective partnerships and collaborations with statutory, education, cultural and VCSE partners.
  • Overseeing and carrying out monitoring, impact and social value reporting of the programme.
  • Producing quality quarterly and end of programme reports.
  • Managing the programme budget.
  • An active member of the Services and Management Team.
  • Undertake other duties as required to meet the organisational needs. 

For this post, successful candidates will need to demonstrate their skills and experience of the following criteria. 

Essential criteria and we are seeking to appoint a skilled person with at least 1 year experience of the following: 

  • Programme management experience and skills.
  • Delivery of social and/or community projects.
  • Experience and expertise for involving people with lived experience of designing and being part of the delivery of services and or projects.
  • Track record of working with a range of partners including statutory and VCSE partners. 

Along with: 

  • A good understanding of community practice approaches.
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to improving health and life outcomes for those most affected by inequalities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to identify, nurture and secure partnerships with a range of partners and stakeholders.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Excellent work ethic with the willingness to work flexibly and responsively to meet the needs of the organisation.
  • Good knowledge of IT packages including Microsoft Office, databases, email and social-media.
  • A good standard of education with evidence of professional development.
  • All applicants must have entitlement to work in the UK at the point of the role commencing. 

Hours Per Week: 35 Hours a week
