Working Hours: Part-Time (This service will operate 8am-8pm 7days a week. The core hours for this post are between 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and 10am-2pm Saturdays, inclusive of bank holidays. Within this role, you will be required to work some evening shifts/Saturday shifts as agreed with your manager upon success.

Job Description

The Role and Department:
We have an opportunity for a Children, Young People and Families Practitioner to join the organisation on a permanent basis. Reporting to one of our Children, Young People and Families Project Managers, you will be responsible for providing timely, responsive, short term therapeutic support to children and young people aged 0-17 who are experiencing self-defined crisis or have recently accessed other parts of Greater Manchester’s Crisis Care Services.

You will be a pivotal role in strengthening the relationship between VCSE organisations and NHS pathways, working with partners to accept referrals into Safe Zones. You will be providing holistic assessments, de-escalation and prevention of further crisis experience, therapeutic interventions and support for the young person’s wider support network. You will work within a trauma informed, person centred approach, ensuring the child or young person’s needs are always at the centre of decision making

What you will bring to Mind:

To be considered for this role, we are looking for experienced candidates that can draw upon their knowledge, lived experience and education that informs person-centred and solution focused practice to support the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families. You will be passionate, enthusiastic, experiences in liaising with other professionals and committed to providing positive outcomes and achieving organisational aims

You will have experience in holding a caseload of children and young people and you will bring a flexible approach, with the ability to respond and adapt to clients self-defined crisis to support de-escalation. You will bring strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships, foster collaboration and communicate empathically with families.

You will bring knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care sector and be committed to cross sector working to bring about positive change for the young people and families you support. You will be able to demonstrate active listening and curiosity skills and value preventative strategies in supporting mental health and wellbeing.
