Good Employment Charter
The Good Employment Charter was developed through a process of co-design, involving the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), all GM districts, Trade Unions, and employers and employees from all sectors.
The Charter is a free, voluntary membership and assessment scheme which has been created to improve employment standards across all GM employers, regardless of size, sector or geography. Any organisations with employees in Greater Manchester can sign up to the Charter – including public sector bodies, private sector businesses, service providers, the third sector, and voluntary and community organisations.
The Charter aims to see Greater Manchester as a place where people are paid fairly for their work, treated well and provided with inclusive opportunities. It wants to see the city region’s economy thrive, with organisations that are productive and effective at the heart of it.
What is the Good Employment Charter?
The Charter has two tiers of involvement: Supporters and Members, and seven key characteristics of good employment.
Supporters
